The new Danish publishing agreements mean that researchers at the Danish research institutions can publish free of charge in hybrid journals from Taylor & Francis and all journals and conference proceedings from ACM. The agreements are valid from January 1st 2024.

AAU now has Open Access agreements with the following seven publishers:

  • ACM
  • Cambridge University Press
  • Elsevier
  • IOP Publishing
  • Taylor & Francis
  • Springer
  • Wiley

Conditions for Open Access publishing

  • Corresponding author must be from a Danish research institution covered by the agreement.
  • Only hybrid journals from Taylor & Francis are covered – not fully Open Access journals.
  • In the Taylor & Francis agreement there is a national cap of 500 published OA articles yearly, which is determined based on the current level of publication.
  • All journals and conference proceedings from ACM are covered.
  • When the article has been accepted, you as a researcher are guided through the conditions for approval of the agreement’s OA conditions.
  • You must select your institution to confirm your affiliation.
  • It is recommended to use your AAU/AAUH e-mail for identification.
  • You must select a Creative Commons license associated with your article (CC-BY 4.0 is recommended as it is less restrictive and in line with the Danish Open Access Strategy).

Contact information

For further information about the agreements, including how you as an AAU researcher can make use of the new publishing agreements or the existing agreements, follow the links below.

If you have any questions about the agreements or how you can publish Open Access, you are welcome to contact the VBN team at vbn@aub.aau.dk.

A hybrid journal publishes both articles behind a paywall and Open Access articles, but with the agreement researchers can publish Open Access free of charge.
